The Assembly welcomed new organisations to the IRF community, further strengthening the Federation’s global network and broadening engagement across the road, mobility, infrastructure, technology and academic sectors.

Members reviewed key organisational developments and achievements from the first months of 2026, including strategic initiatives, programme updates, committee activities and the Federation’s continued contribution to international transport and mobility agendas.

Discussions highlighted the growing importance of workforce development as the sector responds to challenges and opportunities linked to climate resilience, digitalisation, connected, cooperative and automated mobility (CCAM) and sustainable asset management.

In line with this, members were updated on the IRF’s expanding capacity-building activities designed to support the upskilling of transport professionals through structured learning pathways, recognised competencies and access to leading international expertise.

These initiatives continue to enhance value for IRF members by providing privileged access to high-quality training opportunities, discounted enrolment rates and greater visibility for technical experts contributing to the advancement of the global road sector.
