CCAMbassador is a Horizon Europe Coordination and Support Action designed to accelerate the transition of Connected, Cooperative and Automated Mobility (CCAM) from research and pilot projects towards real-world deployment. Running from June 2025 to May 2028 and coordinated by ERTICO – ITS Europe, the project brings together public authorities, transport operators, industry, researchers and citizens to strengthen cooperation and address the practical conditions needed for CCAM implementation.

Rather than developing new CCAM technologies, CCAMbassador focuses on the ecosystem required to deploy them. The project identifies implementation needs and lessons learned, supports the uptake of the EU Common Evaluation Methodology (EU-CEM), strengthens awareness and capacity among deployment actors, and promotes cooperation across European countries. It also further develops the European CCAM Knowledge Base, making existing knowledge and resources more accessible and useful for authorities, operators and citizens.
Building on the Foundations of FAME.

CCAMbassador builds on the results of the FAME project, which established the European CCAM Knowledge Base and contributed to the development of the EU Common Evaluation Methodology. CCAMbassador takes these foundations further by placing greater emphasis on implementation, stakeholder engagement and operational uptake. In this way, the project helps bridge the gap between available CCAM knowledge and technologies and their effective deployment in real-world transport systems.
